Systems Assistant

Location: HONOLULU, HI

The Institute for Human Services (IHS) is Hawaii's most comprehensive human services agency dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness. The Systems Assistant is responsible for help desk, trouble-shooting, installation and assistance with upgrades of all IHS computers, laptops, printers and communication systems. This role supports all employees/end-users to ensure technology and system’s tools perform as expected.

Compensation:

Starting from $20.00 hourly, actual pay commensurate with experience.

Essential Functions:

  1. Demonstrate excellent customer service consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
  2. Perform all help desk troubleshooting and support Systems Administrator with the agency’s network at all sites.
  3. Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources; assist with the maintenance of the agency’s photocopiers and printers.
  4. Support and maintain all software applications and other information systems/databases.
  5. Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and assembling and installing new computer equipment and/or applications.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of computer hardware/software systems, system vulnerabilities and its security issues.
  2. Skilled user of MS Office and database systems.
  3. Strong organization skills with an excellent ability to communicate effectively.
  4. Ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven environment with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
  5. Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to mission.
  6. Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment

Required Education and Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or GED equivalent;
  2. Certification in CompTIA A+
  3. Some experience with helpdesk and Microsoft Office support.

Expected Hours of Work:

General business hours Monday through Friday, including some evenings and weekends. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization.
