Summary:
The Grants and Quality Improvement Manager generates program support through acquisition of both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects through systematic grant application and management. Participates in the organization's continuous quality improvement across homeless programs through guiding performance improvement initiatives that educate staff and support the implementation of change processes. These efforts engage program staff in achieving outcomes required to satisfy funding requirements.
Essential Functions:
Demonstrate excellent customer service consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants; Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
Interface with Finance and program managers to gather information necessary to report to government and private funders regarding current grant programs; Analyze and coordinate statistical data with Data Manager to track program outcomes and outputs.
Establish understanding of agency’s history and programs to track statistics relevant to Development department and provide data to support donor stewardship
Provide training to Program managers regarding CQI and it's implementation within Agency programs, ensure all program managers are competent in CQI and able to apply principles to their respective programs.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of the policies and procedures which affect the retention and disposition of external funding awards and documentation.
Strong organization skills with an excellent ability to communicate (written/verbal) effectively.
Ability to effectively multi-task in a deadline driven environment with a high degree of accuracy and organization.
Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to mission.
Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university.
Three to five years of grant writing, research, program administrative experience.
Proven experience with project management and quality improvement initiatives.
Advanced MS Excel skills; Experience with the Google platform.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Regular Full-time classification. Generally, Monday through Friday, with some evenings and/or weekends based on agency deadlines. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization.
